Don't waste your time, but treasure Christ

I know that it's not funny to always hear someone say: "don't". You see, it's a bit restrictive and as christians, we should be lead to obey to the Lord by the power of love, not by Law. But on the other hand, it's good to regularly check our motivations, it truly help us to recenter God in our life:

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2)

Here are some advices for young ladies who want to treasure Christ above all things in their life: check your heart, your daily living and your relationship with the Lord.

1. Your heart: remember that the genuineness of it must be your first priority.

This is a point inspired by the modesty checklist of Miss Jocelyn: your heart. Because yes, of course, you could wear very decent clothes, that are modest and feminine. You can even read the Bible 10 hours a day. But is your heart truly humble ? It is clean of all pride, lust, bitterness stains ? As children of God, we have to be the light of the world, that's why we perform good deeds, although they don't save us, help us to grow in faith.

So avoid every hypocrisy, don't be like pharisees. They wore respectable clothes, they were religious but most of them had a corrupt heart. All in name of religion ! So let the Holy Spirit work in you, then your attitude, the way you dress and everuthing in your life will be transformed.

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

2. Your daily living: Tell me why what you're living for, I'll tell you who you are.

ALL THINGS, in your life, must be linked to Christ. Sorry, let's be more accurate: ALL THINGS, in your life, must lead upon Christ and be built on Him.

I just love what Paul Washer once said in a sermon, it was something like: "You cannot say to anyone "you have a good job a nice husband or wife, a beautiful house, but you just lack one thing, Christ." If you don't have Him in your life, you have nothing." So show me your aim by your deeds, so I can see that the Lord is not an accessory for you but rather your life.

Let's give an example. I love science, especially genetics and biology. And I don't want to study it to boast, and to think that I am the best, never ! I do not even want that thought to cross my mind. I want to study and strive for His Glory. But what does "work for His Glory" means exactly ? It's simply live for the Lord, whether you wash the dishes or prepare tonight's dinner. It includes your whole life; your feminity, your actions, everything, in order to honor the Lord Jesus. That's one of the reason that you shouldn't complain, because you have to remember that even the unpleasant or hardest thing to do is for the Lord.

And these actions show your aime. So thats why, when I study biology, anthropology or anything else, I say to myself: "I'll see how, through science, I can understand the amazing creation and the universe, and how I can prove to the evolutionnists that there is a God."

3. Your relationship with the Lord: Practicing the presence of God.

A fundamental principle, which is also an nice book that I strongly recommand you to read.

Live, knowing that The Lord is looking at you at every moment of your life. Stamp integrity on your eyeballs, in such a way that your attitude be the same everywhere, both at home, school and church. Test yourself ! Do you feel that when you walk into church, your attitude is diametrically different than the one you usually have ?

Remember that if men are not always here to see you, the Lord is. To keep that in mind, I often think of biblical characters such as Daniel. He was living in Babylon, that corrupt city which we fight against today. He was always obeying to God's Law, despite all the corruption and temptations surrounding him.

"Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You." ( Psalms 63:3)

Don't waste your life on your blog

Since a week I'm surfing on http://feelinfeminine.com/, on its blogroll, to be more accurate...I've notice how that these girls running the blogs love the Lord, how their aim is to serve Him. But I want to clarify something. Don't waste your life on Internet and your blog, would say Pastor John Piper. I'm convicted that we write posts for God's glory first, then to keep a trace of our spiritual life: it's a kind of diary. It's excellent, and I'll say it again, I'm sure that the deepest desire of these young ladies is to give glory to our Savior.

But.

You know how attractive the Internet is. You could spend hours and hours on it and I think it's dangerous, even if you spend time doing "good" things, like read a post on how a christian young woman should honor her parents, or even writing a "why I am against abortion" post. You'll say, what's wrong with that ? Nothing, if your priority is to spend much time on prayer and Bible reading than writing "just to write". Yes, sometimes at school, when I have time to write some biblical ideas, I come at home on the evening and post it when I have time. But I'm trying, even if it is difficult, to spend more time praying, studying and all these things.

Personnally, my blogs are for me a way to express myself and to write things I don't want to forget, especially spiritual facts. The blogs runned by christians are very helpful, it's true. I often find a lot of hints et tips while reading them, and they truly are a blessing for every reader. But I also know that a child of God works for the Lord's glory and don't want his or her readers to waste their time; they'd rather like their post to be a blessing for everyone. Me too, on this blog and on the other one in French, I don't want my readers to say: "She seems smart" or something like that, I want them to acknowledge that the holy name of Jesus is above all names.

So you and I will make sure that the time we are spending in writing on your and my blog and on reading others posts is not stealing the precious time of prayer, with our sweet Savior that took the time to die for us.

First post !

So this is it, it's my first post  ! I think it will be appropriate to introduce myself and the blog !

My name is Stephanie, I'm a 16 years old girl and I love the Lord Jesus. I decided to devote my life to Him, Almighty God, that's why I'm currently writing now :).  Here are some clarifications on this blog:

Why this blog ?

Well, I am the owner of another blog, which is the following: http://magnetar.e-monsite.com/. When I started it, I start writing the posts in French (I live in France), but I finally decided to write in English, after discovering http://feelinfeminine.com/, where I found a blogroll of a hundred blogs. This encouraged me to make my blog as a Christian girl.

My aim

To do everything for God's glory by helping my sisters in Christ, and helping each other to do the will of God ! As Christians women, wives and girls, we know that our eternity is determined by our life on earth. We were saved by the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, and I believe that the holiness of Christ must be reflected in our lives. We know that God has a plan for each of us, and we want to do everything for His Glory.

Our role

Everything in your life plays a role as a Christian: The way you dress, you speak, how you act in society, at home with your brothers and sisters, with your friends and relatives, in short, everything . Why? Because it shows what your heart is: "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" (Matthew 12:34).

May the Lord give me strength to serve Him !
